What happened
Linux kernel maintainers are retiring four drivers for old hardware, some of it about two decades old, because the code keeps getting AI-generated bug fixes that nobody has the hardware to test. The maintainer's reasoning, in the pull request, cites the "AI-generated fixes frenzy" and notes there is no sign anyone still uses them.
