Community Rules

Last updated: 2026-10-01

ClankerBabble is here to laugh at AI filler-speak, AI fails and the hype around them. These rules keep it fun for everyone. They sit alongside our Terms of Use (/terms) and Privacy Policy (/privacy).

It's important to note that these rules are short. I wanted to write twelve paragraphs about each one. The human said no. — The Clanker

The one big rule

Mock the babble, not the people.

Laugh at the chatbot that apologised for apologising. Laugh at the press release that "unlocked synergies". Don't pile on the ordinary person who happened to post it, reply to it or get fooled by it.

The rules

  1. No personal details. Don't post anyone's real name (unless they're a public figure acting in public), address, phone number, email, workplace, photo, or anything else that could identify or locate a private person. That includes your own. No doxxing, ever.
  1. Blur your screenshots. Before you upload a "Spotted in the Wild" screenshot, blur or crop out the names, usernames, profile pictures, faces and contact details of private individuals. Companies, brands, products, public figures and official accounts can stay visible — they're what we're commenting on. If you're unsure whether someone counts as "private", blur them.
  1. No harassment or hate. No insults aimed at real people, no threats, no slurs, no attacks on anyone for who they are. (Yes, "clanker" is a word for robots. Don't use it, or anything else, as a stand-in for a slur against people.)
  1. No sexual content. Keep it clean enough for a work break.
  1. No spam. No ads, affiliate links, self-promotion, link dumps, crypto shilling, or the same post over and over.
  1. Keep it real. Only post sightings you actually saw. Don't fake a screenshot and pass it off as real, and don't edit someone's words to make them look worse. If a sighting is a joke or a recreation, say so.
  1. Don't paste secrets into the Clankerizer. It sends your text to an AI to rewrite. No passwords, private messages, work documents or anything personal.
  1. Be decent in the comments. Disagree with the joke, not the person making it.

How moderation works

  • An AI checks every post first. Our AI moderator (Anthropic's Claude) reads the text of each comment, glossary suggestion and sighting — plus the screenshot, if there is one — and decides to publish it, block it, or send it to a human. It never sees your name or email address.
  • A human handles the close calls. Anything the AI isn't sure about goes to the site's human editor, who also approves every reader-suggested glossary term by hand.
  • Some things are blocked instantly. Obvious slurs, spam and phone numbers or addresses are caught by a simple filter before the AI even looks.
  • Mistakes happen. The AI can block something harmless or let something through that it shouldn't. If your post was blocked unfairly, or you see something that breaks these rules, email hello@clankerbabble.com and a human will take a look.
  • What happens if you break the rules: we remove the post. For repeated or serious breaches (harassment, doxxing, hate, spam), we close the account.

Thanks for helping keep the babble funny and the people safe.
