Dutch broadcaster RTL Nieuws ran hundreds of recent master's theses from twelve universities through an AI detector and found chatbot text in 59% of them, with 6% apparently written almost entirely by AI. The detector it used, scientists warn, catches fewer than half of texts written entirely by AI.
